About You

At Zipongo, Product Marketing plays a vital role across the organization. With leadership across many domains including Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and Data Science, a successful Director of Product Marketing hire has a wide-ranging skill set both as a cross-functional leader and as an individual contributor executing work. For example, you will be called on to use your excellence in qualitative and quantitative analysis, story-telling, and internal education / training; to apply your strong business acumen to a variety of complex decisions; and to bring an executive presence to the problem-solving table internally and externally with our customers. Responsibilities:

Sales and Customer Success Enablement

  • Be an expert on our buyers, how they buy, and their buying criteria, working closely with the SVP Growth and VP of Customer Success
  • Drive strategy and development of Sales and Customer Success enablement materials and processes, such as product demos, sales presentations, business case models, and case studies
  • Be the expert on our competition and how to win against them
  • Determine product pricing for different products and use cases
  • Review customer and partner contracts based on an in-depth understanding of our sales strategy and product+operational capabilities
  • Occasionally attend sales meetings and QBRs, remotely or in person, to gather first-hand insight and support colleagues in the field 

Marketing

  • Lead product Go-To-Market efforts, aligning the organization to optimize impact
  • Tailor B2B value propositions, positioning, and messaging to our various segments
  • Own B2B web content (e.g., website, social media)
  • Support marketing events with collateral development and process management

Product and Data Science

  • Inform the product roadmap based on your comprehensive understanding of market needs
  • Partner with the Product team to execute new product initiatives, leading several yourself 
  • Educate internal teams about the product roadmap and recent releases, including by compiling assets to equip Sales and Customer Success team members to have productive customer conversations
  • Inform the Data Science team’s priorities, in conjunction with the VP of Engineering, to better equip Sales and Customer Success with data insights
  • Conduct independent data analysis using our business intelligence tools to derive insights around product usage and impact

Overall Leadership

  • Act as a cross-functional company leader, with influence across every team
  • Potentially take on direct management of colleagues in the future based on merit

 

Requirements

  • 7+ years of work experience, including roles that helped you develop a broad toolkit and sharp business acumen (e.g., Product Marketing, Management Consulting) 
  • At least 3 years of experience in B2B or B2B2C Product Marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong quantitative / analytical skills (e.g., end-to-end hypothesis generation, data analysis, basic spreadsheet modeling, translation to an intuitive story you can communicate externally); proficiency with data tools such as Looker
  • Strong qualitative skills (e.g., storytelling through Powerpoint slides you create, executing qualitative research programs, identifying and interpreting key findings)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with team members and present to executive-level customers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven track record of success across many of the key aspects of Product Marketing (you are a Jack or Jill of All Trades)
  • Ability to drive a senior team to action based on your data and recommendations, to rally cross-functional leaders around a shared goal, and to enable and guide junior colleagues
  • Ability to get up to speed and contribute quickly with limited training
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis as needed

Bonus Requirements

  • Experience in the healthcare and/or digital health industry, especially in Product Marketing
  • B2B2C SaaS experience
  • Startup experience
  • Experience with Health Plan and/or Employer buyers
  • Passion for health and nutrition
